Many thanks to all of you who gave best wishes and hopes and comfort. It helped a lot and it soothes the frazzled nerves a lot!
There was still some tension and confusion when we started out today in Baltimore and ended up being unable to meet up with Joelle; we just got too darn lost and ended up outside Baltimore. Once we hit the road again, though, we ended up being kind of okay.
Oh, and the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum near Dulles International Airport? If you are any sort of aviation buff, you owe it to yourself to go to this someday. It is, frankly, amazing. Film at 11. Probably later. (My camera dock is somewhere in the trailer and after one abortive attempt to dig through it today, I am so not going to do that again.)
We are in Woodstock, VA, at the moment. Last night we bedded down in this atrocious, frankly scary motel, but tonight we're in a Comfort Inn with free wifi and we are about to go get food.
My panic level is still a bit high, but the weather seems to indicate we'll be missing the worst of the bad weather over the course of the coming week.
