Game Music Poll
May. 14th, 2006 09:56 pmJust a sort-of poll for folks out there....
What do you consider to be some of the best/hardest-rocking/sweetest/whateverish video game music you've heard?
For me, it'd have to be the following:
As much as I would like to include Yes's Homeworld, that's more music inspired by a video game rather than music from a video game.
So, what tracks or themes come to your mind with this? =)

For me, it'd have to be the following:
- Hellmarch from C&C: Red Alert
- Aeris's Theme from FF7 (and yes, I'm a pansy because it still brings a tear to my eye)
- The main theme from Descent, I think it was by Skinnypuppy

Hitman, which was for PS2 or Xbox, don't recall. It had some good orchestral stuff on it, though, with maybe a touch of wordless or Latin choir. Hard to recall now, but it was definitely a very good soundtrack-- the sort you listen to just on its own, like the one for Halo. As it turned out, the Icewind Dale soundtrack does not stand on its own as well; it's excellent background music, but hard to actively listen to if that's all the input you're getting. It's not paced to stand alone, it needs to complement an activity.

Date: 2006-05-15 03:46 am (UTC)The songs from Beyond Good and Evil (man, those tunes were catchy! Propaganda!)
"Late Goodbye" from Max Payne 2 (I liked it so much, I found the single and bought it!)
Deionarra's Theme from Planescape:Torment (actually, I liked a lot of the music from that game).
