An observation: It was bad enough we had CD-R and CD-RW.

Now we have DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD±R, DVD±RW, DVD±RW-SL, and, for all I know, DVD±BBQ and DVD±OMZodKneelBeforeZod.)

It's choice, and I suppose it's good, but I fail to see the advantages of DVD-R over DVD+R over DVD±R. DVD±Stop DVD±The DVD±Madness!

On the plus side, DVD(+/-)OMZodKneelBeforeZod *does* have the advantage of a pretty simple DRM, as well as simplifying the choice of which format is best for you.

Until your DVD(whatever) gets shattered and released the rebels that it had been holding imprisoned in the Phantom Zone. Hate it when that happens, the DVD player doesn't work right for a week afterwards....
