I picked up the graphic novel of V for Vendetta today and I have to wonder about something. It's a great story, fascinating and some very good things to chew on mentally. But something I have to wonder how, "in this day and age" -- newspeak for "with continual worry about terrorists, as well as movement against anti-nationalist and anarchist speech" -- the producers of the movie have any hope in portraying the movie in any way similar to how the graphic novel is.

Blah. Hollywood is going to butcher it six ways to Sunday and most people will be none the wiser. Which is a crying shame. That's how it's going to be shown.

I have no idea what the book is about, but my expectation would be that it's anarchic views were universal in the book, whereas the movie is going to simply be anti-US. It may sound pessimistic, but Hollywood doesn't fail to disappoint in this regard.

On an unrelated note, I have heard of movies being produced that present the terrorists as good guys...
