So V For Vendetta is coming out soon, but something confuses me. As I remember it, V4V (as I'm sure the Hollyweird rags will call it) was set in relatively modern United Kingdom and followed the exploits of a vigilante/terrorist who was going against a corrupt government. But it looks like the movie is going to be set in a near-future government which has gone flat-out repressive. Is this a significant change from the original? And isn't the main character's mask supposed to be a Rorsharsch ink blot?

Rorschach was in Watchmen, and I believe V for Vendetta is indeed set in a repressively governed near-future world. The plot to blow up Parliament is classic Guy Fawkes, though. ;)

I'll be nice and not kill you for misplacing my man Rorschach; Collie's actually right on. V originally was wearing a Guy Fawkes mask. And frequently spoke in iambic pentameter. I may in fact die of amusement upon hearing Hugo Weaving performing these lines.
