Once more unto the breach, dear friends. Still working on the final project, not being as productive with it as I'd hoped I'd be but all in all I think it's going really rather well. I've got the hair (strips of polygon geometry, textured with a transparency map) and tomorrow I'll be texturing her head/face. (Here's what I have so far, someone said she looks like Bruce Lee. I'll fix that when I put on the texture, but I was kind of looking for a tomboyish look. Anyway, for today I'll be prepping the "back wall" of the library with the balcony and door and rail....

It's a lot of work, which is why I'm considering spending another month or so down here, "retaking a class." In all honesty, I can take classes over for free (supposedly) voluntarilly, and I probably could have gotten a better grade out of Animation in 3D. The big question as to wether I do that or not is if I can get the GI Bill payments during that time; otherwise, well, I'll be having some troubles. I know I'm kind of in a financial hole here, and the gravediggers are already starting to unlimber their shovels to start tossing the dirt in on top of me. I'm trying not to think about it, but it's a little hard to when, with each month, I pay out more bills, more rent, and watch the bank account dwindle. =( It's not fun at all.

Anyway, I said I'm trying not to think about that. Did you know you could get a large pizza down here for under ten dollars? Did you know that you get exactly what you pay for when you pay less than ten dollars for a pizza? That was NOT mozzarella cheese, and as for the beef I'm trying hard not to ponder it too much. I haven't gotten poisioned yet, but this isn't exactly what you would call 'great pizza.' Must remember, 'starving student mode.' Combined with vitamins, I'm doing okay. =)

Not much more to say, really. Just continuing on with the project... and taking the odd random quiz, thanks [livejournal.com profile] nigel_fox!

Oh, god... Don't get me started on pizza. I should have warned you before you left NY. I'm very sorry... Now, I made real pizza when I was still throwing pies for a living, but that place was owned by New Yorkers as you know. Actually, I still do make real pizza, which is why I had the foresight to steal all the equipment (short of the oven) needed to make them properly. When I made a large pizza there, it was 23 inches, cut into six slices. It was almost sad the way we had to actually teach people to fold the slices to eat it properly... Here in Colorado when you order a large pizza, you usually get a 16 incher. Sometimes even a 14 incher. Hell, the place down the road that serves the "Ultimate Monster" brags that theirs are -18- inches! Argh... Urge to kill... Rising! Okay, must stop now. Sorry. :)

You're the first person I've seen get that result on the test, by the way. Very cool. :)

Believe me, pizza down here is NOTHING like pizza back in New York. It's not just 'an undefinable something,' it's honestly and truly quality. It's like you have to come from New York to make good pizza or something. It's a cosmic prerequisite.

Though I understand the California Pizza Kitchen is pretty good, actually. Then again, t hey're not advertizing NEW YORK pizza, but California.
