I received a call yesterday from a place called 3D Mirage in Manhattan. They want me to come in and talk to their lead animator as an interview for an internship position.
No further details on the hours, on the projects, or on the length of the internship itself. They're a broadcast animation company which means they do flying logos and the like. It's not game development, but it's still something I can get into. The problem is, my demo reel is billed as 'Game Modelling and FMV Cutscene' work. So I'm going to have to impress upon the lead animator that I can do flying logo work.
It sounds interesting and every little bit of experience helps, especially after a year-long slump. Being an internship at a Madison Ave. PR firm, I'm reasonably certain that the hours will probably be quite crunchy for most of the time, but I don't know anything yet. More when I know more. Pax.
