Urge to Commit Compucide... Rising...

About a month or so ago, I got a new memory stick. A nice 512MB one. For all this time it's run pretty well.

Then today it starts... not working so well. In fact it doesn't work at all. I switched it's position to another memory slot... and it's registering as a 256MB stick.

What is it about me and computers? Am I alternating between extremes of cursed and blessed? AUGH! I can't afford ANOTHER memory stick now, not at the prices they're going at. This is insane. *muttergrumblerazzinfrazzin*

Buggy computers

I have 1GB of DIMM RAM lying around after upgrading to new RAM after getting a new motherboard, etc. Wanna buy? Make me a reasonable offer.

Trouble is, being unemployed and all the financial mess that involves, what I can offer is probably going to be dissonant with reality! Let me know what you think a good price for it would be, and I'll see what I can do. =)

I decided to put them up for sale on ebay -- however -- try http://www.compgeeks.com for good deals on RAM. I got plenty of DDR RAM for my newly upgraded machine for what looks like a great deal compared to what I've seen on ebay, where people don't seem to be doing their research. (But that's good for sellers like me! :) We hope they don't do their research!)

Might want to check with the manufacturer of the RAM. Most of 'em do lifetime warranty on their stuff, so it should be a small issue to get it replaced.

Sounds like some chips were faulty on the module. You might have to shell out $10-15 for shipping, but hey... it's cheaper than $100+ for another DIMM.

LOack of a receipt kind of makes it hard, but I'll see what I can do. Thanks!

Augh. That just sucks. Do you still have your reciept? It might even be worth taking it back to the shop you bought it at if it's only been a month or so.. I know Memory Express back in Calgary took care of you for the first three months before having to put it in on a manufacturer's warranty.

Negative on the receipt. It'd been a few months, and I thought it would, you know, work. =D But thanks for the suggestion. Maybe the manufacturer can do something...
