Just a minor update to show that I still have stuff to say. =)

First off, today met with [livejournal.com profile] fairietink and had a wonderful time just having lunch and chatting and wandering about the Broadway Mall. (Thank you again for lunch, sayeth the starving ex-student! =) ) (Aside note: she's got the most incredibly bright green eyes I've ever seen!) It was a very enjoyable time; which reminds me that I should get back into going to RenFaires and the like, in this area or any other I'm eventually moving to.

I was, however, once again reminded of why driving in New York City and surrounding environs is a silly idea and best avoided. Grump. The trip was worth it, I just wish that everyone and their brother's dog with a car hadn't decided to mirror my movements like a flock of flamingoes at the same time!

Keeping up with web design work, so that's paying for the web site. Utter shenanigans at the development my parents live at; I don't think I should say anything more than there are some whackadoo companies out there that don't seem to be able to tell dollars from cents. How do you 'misplace' a person who owes a mad amount of money?

In recent local news as well, the city has 'suddenly' rezoned about 7,000 dwelling sin the NYC area as 'three-family dwellings.' Guess who's domicile got a letter informing them of this? Now, there may be a somewhat livable apartment-like arrangement in the basement but it's not a for-rent 'apartment,' and even if it were that would make this a two-family dwelling at most. But it's a one-family dwelling. So this means about 7000 people, less those who refuse to be suckered in by this silliness, need to go into Manhattan (Manhattan!) and pay thirty bucks to get their dwelling re-registered. I smell scam. I smell a city so desperately in need of money that they're sinking lower and lower to get it. What next, paying 'protection money' to the Office of the Mayor?

God, I gotta get out of this city. And that's as far as I'll go with the political commentary, it'll ruin an otherwise fun day. =)

to kind!
