"My Hovercraft is Full of Eels"

... or, at last, 'My Jeep has a gecko in it.'

I was going out to the car yesterday morning for another marathon 12-hour session, and as I opened up the door something fell from the inside sill. It hit the floor of the car and then scampered up behind the dash. Silly guy must have been sunning himself on the sill but how he got in is anybody's guess; I'd closed all the windows. Well, if nothing else, he'll snag any bugs in there, and it's a darnsight better than finding, say, a wasp or a wolf spider in my car.

The project is still going, but at least Project Take One is almost done. I've got about 90% of all the frames done and a few more hours I should be able to finish the whole then. Then I get to re-render frames that exploded. And then composite it. Yay.

Well, this week I have no classes, so I should be able to get a lot done. Then next week I'll be able to finish up two in-game characters, animate them the following week and do a rudimentary composite, and then polish the whole thing up. And, of course, I'll always be working on this, doing more stuff while I'm... hmm....

I've been reminded that I'm going to need to get at least a small job when I go back to New York and I'm looking for an animation job. And it strikes me that the one job I'd be most qualified for is, say, Best Buy technical support staff.

I really hope I get a job quickly, then. I'm not going to survive that sort of "temporary" job for very long at all.

Anyway. This week is sort of a blend of break and work. I'll be taking a day or two of rest, probably going to try to catch a movie -- T3 comes out later this week, as does League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, though I heard some ill things of the movie adaptation of that -- but I'll also be working on the demo reel a lot. Just need to finish up a few more things and the two characters. Question: Anyone know about that Sinbad animated film coming out this week? It's from Dreamworks so I'm not as hinky about going to see it as I would if it were Disney, but I'm still a little leery. On the one hand we've waited for years for Terminator 3, and the anigeek in me wants to see cool visual effects. On the other hand it's the 'Lady Terminator' storyline we've kind of dreaded and it just blows apart any concept of causality that was established in the second movie.

On the gripping hand... 'Rise of the Machines,' man! It's the prequel to The Matrix! Okay, folks, Neo vs. Arnie-as-Terminator. "I'll be bahhk!" "Whoa!"

Well, considering I just woke up, I should be off and do Morning Stuff and then go and do whatever it is that I'll be doing today.
