My Only Political Commentary
Nov. 1st, 2004 12:18 pmAs you can imagine, politics for me right now are taking something of a backseat to other concerns, but I do intend to go out and vote tomorrow at some point. Most of you already know my leanings and what I believe. However, I will refer you to the LiveJournal of the quite erudite
bradhicks who can present things better than I can. Many of his entries are of interest to both sides of the aisle. In particular, there are instructions and suggestions for what to do if you feel that you are being intimidated at the voting location. He also gives excellent advice for actual voting.
No doubt about it, this year's election is a mite chaotic. The partisanship seems unusually vicious (though as
ruggels has pointed out, in the past there have been times when it's even come down to dueling in the streets.) But as BBC correspondent Kevin Anderson has said, "Look, both parties are doing what they have always done, just more of it and more loudly."
I'm going to refrain from commenting here on Osama bin Laden's recent 'home movie,' for a variety of reasons.
Anyway. If you have thought through the issues, if you know who you want to vote for, if you're not going to just select candidates randomly, go out and vote. That is all.
Pax.
