I loved it. I think in things like this, that plot and character gets in the way. The characters aren't supposed to "change" but struggle over adversity and triumph. The dialogue was cute, but then I was there for the bvisuals, and the in-jokes delivered in spades. Lots of things to look at for the attentive fan of old movies.
