Okay, nothing like a bit of insanity to greet you when you get back from a trip.
I came back to NY after a brief visit to friends in New Hampshire this weekend. Had a bit of trouble getting the computers back on the net, but it was just a hiccup at the cable company. So I look away for a moment, and when I get back to the PC I see... that Mail is in the process of downloading 1500+ messages. *dies*
When I was in Florida, I had Earthlink as my ISP. I had cancelled that account over a year ago, and I was no longer getting any e-mail from it. Except I guess it suddenly decided to let me have all the e-mail it had built up for me over the past year which came out to about 1500+ pieces of spam. O.o Why... thank you, Earthlink. I think. This is the internet equivalent of a slightly unhinged stranger, lacking personal hygiene, sitting next to you on the bus and draping an arm over your shoulders and starting to talk with you on mildly intimate terms.
Oh, and one of them was the Nigerian finance minister scam. I can't believe these guys are still going at it.
Anyway, NH was good, clean air and somewhat cooler than NY. Lead on a job there except it's NOT animation, it's Third Shift (11PM to 7AM the following morning,) and aside from looking in a microscope I really don't know what the job entails. That's it for now, anyway. Pax.
