When The Muse Throttles You....

Once in a while the Muse kind of waltzes up to you, takes hold of the scuff of your neck, and starts whispering things that make you unable to sleep until you've taken pen to paper. '"Oceans" was sort of like that, in that it really wanted to be written. This scrap of an excerpt was more like the Muse holding a loaded .44 to my head and conducting Armed Inspiration. I haven't really visited this story in a long time. I threw the excerpt up on deviantART for the heck of it and to get opinions and criticism, but I never really wrote anything for it for a long time until today. Last night when I was going to sleep some of the possibilities and implications kind of grabbed hold of me and wouldn't let me go. It being a bit of a melancholy story, it kind of made me a bit ill going through the events and what would happen. The story was originally just to explore a cosmology; that it took such a melancholic turn is kind of oddball.
Not much new here. Finally getting Maya to behave -- mostly -- and considering my next step. Also considering what movie to see this weekend while I bring the car in to have the steering system looked at. So far, The Village seems to be winning out over Thunderbirds and The Manchurian Candidate, except for the fact that The Village is going to scare the hell out of me.^^;;
