Well, the good hting about Steam is that you don't pay to use is, and there are quite a few good demos and freebies there.
True20 is a variant of the d20 System, in that it uses the d20 for everything. It has an interesting damage mechanic (basically a damage track and a save versus taking damage on that track) instead of hit points. Overall I'm rather fond of it!
