Glad to hear from you, too! =D

I think it might be the MMO-like feeling I get from it. After playing FFXI and WoW for a couple of years (and experiencing the depth and breadth of the really pretty damn awful gamer community in general in WoW) I suppose that's colored by view of 4e.

Trying to separate it from that.... It's... not BAD but I think the powers and abilities actually limit the characters in some ways. What they did with wizards is all in all GREAT, I think, but it seems like they've taken away as many options for spell loadouts as they did make them more felxible. And are healing clerics needed anymore?

I did pick up a 4e PH but unfortunately, it's still in Carson City for the time being, and I'm planing on picking it up when I head back there for Thanksgiving. I suppose in many ways I might be being too hard on 4e, so I'll have to wait and see before reading the PH more thoroughly!

And Wraith Recon is funky. ;) I wish they'd devoted more to gear and equipment, but by the same token, a lot of really cool items have been detailed in other supplements, and I imaigne they want to encourage player creativity with 'common' magic items. Which is good. =)
